Updated September 28, 2026. This policy explains how MyOpal uses information when you browse, shop, use your account or contact us.
Information we collect
We collect account, contact and profile details; billing and delivery details; orders and payment status or references; wishlist and browsing history; membership levels, points, level progress and reward records.
Messages may include text and images you choose to send. Notifications include delivery and read status. The jewelry designer uses selected MyOpal stone images, design preferences, generation requests, generated versions, saved designs and your acknowledgment of the Inspiration selection rules.
Technical information can include IP addresses, browser and device information, cookies, session identifiers and security records needed to operate and protect the website.
How we use information
We use information to manage accounts, process orders and delivery, maintain membership and rewards, provide customer support and design services, show relevant account activity, prevent misuse and meet applicable legal obligations.
Orders and payments
MyOpal retains order details, payment status and references needed to manage purchases, refunds and related records. Payment credentials are handled by the enabled payment provider. Do not send card numbers or payment passwords through Messages.
Jewelry designer
When you generate a design, we securely send your selected MyOpal stone or reference image and design preferences to our configured image provider. Refining a design also uses the previous result. The final design image and relevant design preferences are sent to our configured text provider to create its title and design thought.
Your design requests and images are protected by your account permissions. Before your first design, we explain that saved designs may be selected for Inspiration. Only a design selected and published by MyOpal becomes publicly visible; unsaved designs, earlier versions and your full creation history are not published through this process. Older saved designs are not automatically included under the new selection rules.
Service providers and sharing
Hosting, payment, shipping, email, image-generation and text-generation providers may receive the information needed to provide their part of the service. We may also disclose information where required by applicable law or to protect rights and security.
Cookies and sessions
Cookies and session data support sign-in, cart selection, checkout, preferences and security. Your browser can restrict cookies, but some account and shopping functions may then be unavailable.
Retention and security
We retain information as needed for the relevant service, order history, dispute resolution and applicable recordkeeping requirements. Different records may need different retention periods.
We use access controls and other safeguards to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Keep your credentials private and contact us if you suspect unauthorized access.
Your choices and rights
You can update your profile and address details and manage saved items. Archiving a saved design removes it from public Inspiration; restoring it does not automatically publish it again. You may contact us to request access, correction or deletion, subject to applicable law and identity checks.
Closing an account does not necessarily delete all transaction or legal records. We explain any relevant retention requirements when handling your request.
International processing
Service providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Applicable protections and requirements depend on the service and location; contact us if you need more information.
Changes and contact
We update this policy when our services or requirements change and revise its date. Material changes will be communicated through appropriate website notices.
