MyOpal
About the brand
Extraordinary stones. Something uniquely yours.
It starts with an opal
MyOpal is dedicated to natural opals, opal jewelry and custom pieces with a personal connection.
Our work begins with the loose stone: its origin, play-of-color, body tone, pattern and cut. We also consider what comes next—whether it will be collected, worn, passed on or made into a piece that feels entirely your own.
An opal can be treasured as it is, become a ring, necklace or brooch, or inspire a design built around its individual character.
Opals, since 2017
Since 2017, MyOpal has worked with natural loose opals, finished opal jewelry, cameos and custom design, serving customers in China and around the world.
Years spent with Australian and Mexican opals have shaped how we assess their differences, color, quality and value. Opals cannot be understood through a few numbers alone. Careful observation, comparison and experience all matter.
That depth and variety are why opals remain at the heart of what we do.
Learning that informs our advice
MyOpal is a member of the International Gem Society (IGS) and the Australian Opal Association. We value continued learning and our connections with the wider gem and opal community.
Origin, treatments, assembled stones, body tone, play-of-color and the meaning of a certificate can all raise questions. We bring that knowledge into our product descriptions, buying advice and custom-design conversations, explaining the distinctions that matter to each purchase.
Thoughtful sourcing and selection
Finding opals is only part of the work. Selecting the right stones for collecting, everyday wear or custom jewelry takes a considered eye.
We look at body tone, pattern, brightness, thickness, shape, possible fractures and setting options—not just a striking photograph. We do not describe every stone as “top grade” or use superlatives in place of useful detail.
A recommendation should stand up to a closer look and an honest conversation.
Making opals easier to understand
Sharing opal knowledge has always been part of MyOpal. A stone's appearance changes with its angle and lighting; pattern, transparency, thickness and cut also shape its character.
We help explain the differences between black, white, crystal, boulder and fire opal, and between solid natural opal, assembled doublets or triplets, and imitations. Knowing what a stone is—and how to wear and care for it—makes choosing much more rewarding.
Our authenticity and grading guide introduces the terms used in our descriptions. Clear information is the foundation of lasting trust.
Experience MyOpal in Beijing
Our Beijing showroom offers the chance to view stones in person, try on jewelry and discuss custom work.
Photos capture color and videos reveal movement, but seeing an opal in person brings another perspective on its depth, changing appearance and how it feels when worn.
Whether you are choosing your first opal, comparing special stones or planning a significant custom piece, contact MyOpal to arrange a visit.
From loose stone to a personal piece
Choose a natural loose opal from MyOpal, explore finished jewelry, or work with us on a design around your chosen stone.
When available, our Jewelry Designer helps you explore ideas and save concepts to discuss with MyOpal. These are design references, not production specifications or automatic quotes. Materials, dimensions, budget and craftsmanship are confirmed with our team before production.
A clear process connects the initial idea with the finished piece. Explore custom jewelry.
Personal advice, wherever you are
We work with customers through online conversations, showroom visits, exhibitions and international delivery.
Some are drawn to vivid play-of-color; others prefer a softer stone for everyday wear. Some are choosing their first opal, while others are searching for a distinctive black opal for a collection.
We tailor our advice to your budget, taste, intended use and the way you want to wear or enjoy your stone.
Our professional memberships

These documents reflect our industry participation and commitment to learning. They are not independent certificates for every product. Each stone should be assessed on its own information, physical appearance, any accompanying certificate and the details agreed with MyOpal.
Honest descriptions. Lasting relationships.
An opal may be bold or understated, a rare collector's piece or an accessible first stone. Whatever its price, it deserves to be described honestly, selected thoughtfully and worn with care.
We want buying and creating with MyOpal to feel clear, personal and reassuring—from the first stone that catches your eye to the piece you make your own.
