Before you commission a piece
- Create a custom piece with a natural loose opal purchased from MyOpal. Opals differ in structure, thickness, fractures, stability and how they respond to stress, so we assess your chosen stone before confirming the design and production details.
- Custom jewelry is a personalized service. Once production begins, custom orders cannot be canceled, returned or exchanged, and change-of-mind refunds are not available. This does not affect remedies for quality issues or your statutory rights. Confirm materials, dimensions, budget, design direction and production details before work begins.
- Design sketches, renderings and CAD drawings communicate the proposal. Production may require adjustments for the stone's shape, dimensions and color orientation, the setting structure, metalworking techniques and handmade processes. The agreed finished-piece standards and the actual piece take precedence.
- If we are responsible for damage to the stone or finished piece during design, production or setting, we will resolve it in line with applicable law and the terms we have agreed with you.
- If a design, structure or production method poses a high risk, we should agree with you in writing on the risks, acceptable limits and how any issues will be handled before production. This agreement does not exclude any design, production or quality responsibility that MyOpal must bear by law.
- Avoid impacts, pressure, high temperatures, sudden temperature changes and prolonged contact with chemicals. After delivery, wear and store your opal jewelry in accordance with MyOpal's care guidance.
